DR VERNER WHEELOCK

Low carb advocate Dr Verner Wheelock studied agricultural chemistry at Queens University, Belfast and did research on milk secretion in cows for his PhD at the  University of Reading. At the University of Bradford, he established the Food Policy Research Unit which pioneered research on the impact of the emerging recommendations in healthy eating for the food and agriculture industries. In 1990 he founded Verner Wheelock Associates, which specialises in food safety and nutrition consultancy and training. Dr Wheelock speaks, writes widely and blogs on healthy eating and alternatives to current dietary guidelines. He is helping to set up a Diabetes Support Group in Skipton, North Yorkshire.
