As an active member of the New Zealand Orthopaedic Training Committee, he participates regularly in the education and training of orthopaedic registrars. Dr Johnson graduated as a medical doctor from the University of the Witwatersrand Wits university where also specialised in orthopaedic surgery and later completed his training training in England.
