Nina Teicholz is an American science journalist and Executive Director of The Nutrition Coalition, a non-profit group that promotes evidence-based nutrition policy. She is also Adjunct Assistant Professor of Health Policy and Management, New York University, Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. As a well-known, published expert on nutrition policy, Teicholz has presented testimony to both the Canadian Senate and the US Department of Agriculture and lectures internationally. She is widely recognized for changing the conversation on dietary fat and particularly saturated fat, following publication of her international bestseller, The Big Fat Surprise. She attended Yale and Stanford where she studied biology and majored in American Studies. She earned a master’s degree from Oxford University and served as associate director of the Center for Globalization and Sustainable Development at Columbia University.
