Dr Eric Westman is Associate Professor of Medicine at Duke University in North Carolina and director of the university’s Duke Lifestyle Medicine Clinic. His research interest is disease prevention. Because smoking and obesity are the major causes of morbidity and mortality in modern society, his research involves clinical trials examining new therapies for smoking cessation and obesity.  Dr Westman is also co-founder of HEAL Clinics, devoted to low-carb lifestyle treatment of pre-diabetes, type 2 diabetes, and obesity. He is co-author of The New Atkins For A New You and other best-sellers.
