Dr Barbara H Roberts is Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at Alpert Medical School of Brown University, in Providence, Rhode Island. She is  Former Director, The Women’s Cardiac Center at The Miriam Hospital, and author of The Truth About Statins: Risks and Alternatives to Cholesterol-Lowering Drugs (Simon & Schuster, 2012) and How To Keep From Breaking Your Heart: What Every Woman Needs to Know About Cardiovascular Disease (Jones & Bartlett, 2004, second edition 2009). She is recently retired from patient care but remains active teaching and lecturing on cardiac disease prevention using diet, and the dangers of statin drugs.
