DR NICK TELLIS
Category: DOCTORSAddress: 16 Partridge Street
Glenelg
South Australia
5045
AustraliaAustralian GP Dr Nick Tellis is Practice Principal at the Partridge Street General Practice in Glenelg, Adelaide, and Chair of Southern Adelaide General Practice Council. He uses his medical knowledge to help patients achieve their health goals. “The body will go where the mind leads it,” Dr Tellis says. Thus, he firmly believes that taking the time to communicate well achieves real, long-term change for patients. He believes that doctors need more training in nutrition. Diabetes and obesity have increased over the last 30 years and medical advice must move on and address this, he says. Dr Tellis has researched and implemented LCHF/ketogenic diets for himself and his valued patients because “eat less and walk more” is clearly not working. “Medicine is a lifetime of ongoing learning and LCHF is a great tool to manage weight and health,” he says. Dr Tellis takes particular interest in promoting good mental health and is listed as a provider with Beyond Blue. You can follow him on Twitter (@partridgegp), and on Facebook, or email drnicktellis@gmail.com.

DR EUGENE FINE
Address: 1695 Eastchester Rd
Bronx
New York
10461
United StatesDr Eugene Fine is clinical professor in the Department of Radiology (Nuclear Medicine) at Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Downstate Medical Cente. He and his colleagues are studying effects of ketogenic diets on aggressive cancers. They have published a pilot study (10 patients) of a ketogenic diet in cancers. The extent of ketosis correlated with stable disease or partial remission. They are also studying mechanisms by which ketone bodies inhibit cancer cell growth and energy metabolism. Finally, they are preparing to combine ketogenic diets with drug therapies, testing first in animals. THey hypothesize, ultimately, that improved efficacy due to the ketogenic diet will reduce toxic drug doses, improving both outcomes and quality of life.
